If you would love the opportunity to go rafting, horseback riding, surfing, wind surfing, hiking or even skiing, or if taking in one of the many festivals at a local vineyard, then you may want to consider a position at one of our medical centres in Napier.
Napier, known as the 'Art Deco Capital of the world', is a sea-side town on the East coast of Hawkes Bay. Being on the east coast, Napier has the honour of witnessing the world's first sunrise each and every day. Full of character, having been re-built in the Art Deco style after the 1931 earthquake, Napier really is an idyllic piece of paradise to call home.
Napier is a family friendly city, with Marine Parade having had a number of additions made to it, including a Pump cycle track, skate park, playgrounds, the National Aquarium, Ocean Spa and gas BBQ's for public use. Walking the promenade and taking in the beautiful views of the art deco buildings and ocean views.
There are around 75 wineries in the region, wonderful scenery from the ranges to the sea. Mid February is the annual 'Art Deco' weekend which is a must do!
There are plenty of local live music festivals held every summer at some of our local wineries, from local artists to international superstars such as Elton John.
If you're into the outdoors, there are a number of gorgeous walks to do, with waterfalls, rivers and beaches close by. Hawkes Bay has over 200 kms of cycle trails, as well as a mountain bike park for the adrenaline junkies.
There are some beautiful beaches in Hawkes Bay, a couple of perfect swimming beaches in Ahuriri for a dip after work with the kids, or a great place to eat Fish & Chips with the family and a warm summer's night.
Napier's beaches are predominately shingle, and in areas can be dangerous (be sure to ask the locals, for the best spots) however you have access to some of the most beautiful golden sand, surf beaches just a 20 minute drive from Napier.
If the beach isn't your thing, or want something different for the kids, there's always Splash Planet in Hastings.
Hawkes Bay isn't all about Napier though. Havelock North, 20kms from Napier some of our top wineries, such as Black Barn, who hosts many live music acts in its open air amphitheatre, as well as an open air cinema over the summer months.
If you're looking for fantastic views, you will find them on top of Te Mata Peak "the sleeping giant". It's a great place for a hike through the red woods, mountain biking, or a drive to the top on a lazy day.
