June 2024 - Patient Newsletter

Winter is on it’s way!

We hope that we are keeping well and staying warm as we approach winter. One way to stay well is to get your flu vaccine, there is more information about the flu vaccine below.

Public Holiday opening hours

Our clinic opening hours for 3rd June and 28th June are as follows:

The Doctors Napier

Open 8am - 8pm for walk-in service

The Doctors Greenmeadows and The Doctors Ahuriri

Closed

And the winner is.......

Everybody who had a flu vaccine in April went into a draw to win a 55" smart TV. The winner of the TV was our lovely patient Joy, who was very surprised and pleased to win. Joy told us that she has never won anything before! Joy was presented with the TV by our Acting Nurse Manager and one of our Senior Nurses, pictured here.

Introducing regular health clinics

From this month we will be holding regular health clinics at our Napier, Greenmeadows and Ahuriri practices. The clinics will be:

•Respiratory

•Spirometry

•Diabetes

•Cervical Screening

•Before School Checks

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for specific dates and times.

Visiting The Doctors Ahuriri? Here's where to park..........

If you are visiting The Doctors Ahuriri, please do not park in the car park spaces that belong to other businesses. These spaces are allocated and paid for by our neighbouring businesses and are clearly signed. Our neighbours are telling us that their spaces are often used by our patients which causes an inconvenience to their staff and customers.

If the car park outside The Doctors is full please find a park that is not allocated to one of our neighbours.

Protect yourself this winter with a flu vaccine!

Flu can be anywhere and your best form of protection is to get a flu vaccination.

If you are over 65 years, pregnant, or have certain chronic or long term conditions you

qualify for a FREE flu vaccine.

Flu vaccines are available at all our clinics now. Contact our reception team to book your appointment.

Paying for services

Pre-payment

A kind reminder that you now need to pre-pay for all appointments, prescriptions and other services. This is a policy that has been introduced by Green Cross Health.

Please allow adequate time before your appointment to pre-pay at reception.

There may be further charges to pay following your appointment depending on what services you have been provided with, our reception team will be able to help you understand if there are extra charges and what they are for.

Paying by card

We no longer accept cash as a form of payment. Please pay at reception using a credit/ debit card or via the payment link sent by email or text.

Cash will still be accepted as a form of payment to clear outstanding debts.

Appointments

A standard consultation time is 15 minutes, this enables you to discuss 1 or 2 issues with your GP. If you know that you have more issues to discuss please let reception know when you book your appointment so that they can book a double appointment. Please be aware there is an additional cost for appointments which last longer than 15 minutes.

Where possible you are advised to book an appointment with your own GP.

If you have urgent care needs, our walk-in service is available at our Napier clinic 8am-8pm, 7 days per week.

We welcome your feedback

If you would like to provide feedback about your experience of The Doctors, please complete a feedback form available in reception or email us at info@na.thedoctors.co.nz.

So are u saying my money which states "legal tender" is no longer valid? Even though I have no outstanding debt? Are u also stating that my money is not worth the paper & ink used to print & make it? So when can I pickup my file & go elsewhere, as my Dr failed to help at all for 4 visits & I still suffer from incapacitating panic / anxiety attacks. He lied / mislead me when questioned about his experience with type1 diabetes, he has ONLY 1 other type1 diabetic patient, who is on a pump...! So very little to no experience at all then?! I have to go somewhere for diabetic prescriptions... have I been banned fro…
